No Change, No Butterflies

"If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies."

Acceptance of what you and your life is suddenly like after a severe traumatic brain injury is, to say the least, hard. 

​

One thing that helped me along the way was the above saying about butterflies. I felt lost and didn't know who I was anymore after my accident. 
 

I thought, hey maybe I am starting over as a caterpillar. I gotta do some hard stuff, eat to heal, take care of me, and one day in the future I cocoon up and emerge as a bright and brilliantly colourful butterfly, sitting among flowers, living my best life.

I'm still working on that transformation to turn into a butterfly, but I'll get there. Because "No Change, No Butterflies".
